Ko e mape
Kuala Kedah sits where the Kedah River meets the Strait of Malacca, just west of Alor Setar. On the map, the river mouth is the main event. The channel widens as it approaches the sea, jetties and boat landings line its banks, and the straight coastline runs north and south from the estuary.
The streets form a close, irregular cluster near the water, and the town thins out inland toward flat rice fields. The Kedah plain is famous for its paddy, and its long straight field boundaries and irrigation lines give the outskirts a strong linear pattern.
On the river's bank stands Kota Kuala Kedah, a fort built to guard the old royal capital. The town is also known for seafood and for ferries to Langkawi. A Kuala Kedah map poster brings together river, sea and fort in one quiet coastal view.
The Kedah River widens and opens into the strait. Its estuary gives the poster a clear focal point.
The fort stands on the riverbank near the sea. Its walls mark a small, defined shape in the waterfront.
Flat rice fields spread inland in straight lines. These form a regular, almost woven texture behind the town.
