Lādwa is a town in Kurukshetra district in northern Haryana, set in the flat and intensively farmed plain between the Yamuna and the Punjab border. From above, the old part of town is a tightly packed cluster of lanes, while newer streets extend along the main roads that run out through the surrounding fields.
The town has a place in regional history as the seat of a small Sikh principality in the early nineteenth century, which was annexed by the British in the 1840s. Today it functions as a market town for the villages around it, and the map reflects that role, with roads converging on the centre from several directions.
