Lafiagi lies in Kwara State in central Nigeria, in the savanna country north of Ilorin and not far from the Niger River. From above, the town forms a dense, irregular cluster of compounds and lanes, with a few larger roads cutting through and leading out across the surrounding farmland.
The town is the seat of a traditional emirate and the headquarters of Edu Local Government Area. Its older quarters follow the organic layout typical of historic northern Nigerian towns, where family compounds and small courtyards shape the street pattern rather than any grid.
Around the settlement, the land opens into fields and seasonal waterways typical of the Niger valley region. A Lafiagi map poster captures the texture of the old town and the roads that radiate from it into the plain.
The older parts of town are a dense mosaic of compounds and narrow lanes, creating a finely detailed, organic pattern on the map.
A handful of main roads lead out of Lafiagi toward neighbouring towns, forming clear lines across the open land.
Farmland and seasonal streams surround the town, leaving the settlement as a distinct cluster set on open ground.
