Limón, often called Puerto Limón, is Costa Rica's main port on the Caribbean. On the map the town sits on a blunt headland. The sea wraps its eastern side, and a tight grid of streets fills the point. Docks and container yards extend the shoreline, and a small island lies just offshore.
That island is Isla Uvita. In 1502, on his fourth voyage, Columbus anchored near it, one of the earliest European landings on this coast. The town grew much later as the terminal of the railway from the Central Valley. Its port and rail history is still visible in the long straight lines near the waterfront.
A Limón map poster shows the meeting of grid and coast: squared blocks that stop at an uneven shoreline, the geometric edges of the port, and green lowland that stretches north and south along the Caribbean. It is a simple composition that clearly belongs to the sea.
The town centre fills a compact point of land in regular blocks. On the map these streets end sharply at the water on the seaward side.
A small island just off the coast, near where Columbus anchored in 1502. It sits as a solitary shape in the open water of the print.
Docks, piers and cargo yards add straight engineered lines to the natural coastline. They show the town's long role as Costa Rica's Caribbean gateway.

Ko e hā ʻa Limón
People hang a map of Limón to remember the Caribbean side of Costa Rica: a trip along the coast, family roots in the province, or years spent near the port. The clean black-and-white format keeps it calm next to other artwork.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a date or a personal note, then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. It comes as a $9 HD download or as a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
