Live Oak sits on the northeastern edge of the San Antonio area, in Bexar County, where the city gives way to suburbs along the interstate toward Austin. From above it is mostly residential: looping streets, cul-de-sacs and short collector roads fill the land between the big highway corridors. On paper those corridors form a hard frame around a softer interior.
The name comes from the live oak, the broad evergreen tree common across South Texas, and much of the town's character is suburban and leafy rather than monumental. Commercial strips line the main roads and neighborhoods sit behind them. In black and white, that pattern shows up clearly as dense edges wrapped around quieter, more organic blocks.
A Live Oak map poster works because the town's shape is easy to read. It has a clear boundary, a clear internal logic, and a place in the wider San Antonio sprawl that you can see at a glance. It suits anyone who lives here, grew up here, or remembers a first house on one of those curving streets.
Interstate 35 and Loop 1604 meet near the town, and their wide ramps and frontage roads draw the strongest lines on the map, defining Live Oak's edges against neighboring suburbs.
Behind the commercial frontage, residential streets bend into loops and dead ends, a typical Texas suburban pattern that turns into a fine, almost textile texture in monochrome.
Live Oak borders several small cities in the same corridor, so the poster shows how one town fits into a continuous suburban fabric northeast of San Antonio.

Ko e hā ʻa Live Oak
People hang a map of Live Oak because it is where daily life actually happens: the commute, the school run, the street where the kids learned to ride a bike. The map records that ordinary geography with a quiet precision that suits a hallway or a home office.
You can add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example a family name and a move-in date, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital HD files cost $9, or you can order a printed poster.
