Lo Prado sits on the western side of Santiago, one of the many communes that together make up the Chilean capital. From above it reads as a dense, even weave of short residential streets. Blocks are small and closely packed, with few open gaps, so the drawing looks almost like fine fabric stretched between the larger avenues that mark its edges.
The commune was carved out as its own municipality in the early 1980s, and its layout shows that planned, postwar growth. Streets run in repeated patterns instead of following any old village core. Metro Line 5 crosses the area underground along a main east–west avenue, and the stations give the line a quiet rhythm on the page, linking Lo Prado to the centre of Santiago.
A Lo Prado map poster suits people who know the place as a neighbourhood, not a postcard. The streets are ordinary, but the density of the grid turns them into a strong graphic surface. Rendered in black and white, the small blocks become a precise pattern that says a great deal about how much of Santiago actually lives, walks and commutes.
Short streets and compact blocks fill almost every part of the commune, producing an even, finely textured pattern that looks strong at every print size.
Line 5 of the Santiago Metro follows a main avenue through the commune, tying this western district to the rest of the capital along a single straight axis.
Lo Prado belongs to the capital's western belt, where communes meet one another along wide avenues rather than natural borders like rivers or hills.

For people who grew up here, or who still take the metro in from the western side of the city each morning, this map is a record of home at street level. The title and subtitle can carry a family name, a street, or the year you moved in.
The fine grid reads well in the Classic black and white style, and takes on a softer look in Paper or Sand. Noir and Blueprint suit a more graphic interior. The coordinates line can be left as is or changed to mark a specific corner.
