Mandaluyong is one of the smaller cities of Metro Manila, and on the map it is almost completely built up. The Pasig River curves along its southern boundary, separating it from Makati. EDSA, the metropolitan area's main ring road, crosses the city in a straight, heavy line, with dense blocks packed on both sides.
Part of the Ortigas Center business district falls within Mandaluyong, and its office towers and shopping malls sit along the eastern side. Further west the grain becomes finer, with older residential streets, schools and small commercial blocks linked by Shaw Boulevard and other cross streets.
A Mandaluyong map poster suits a place that fits a lot into a small area. The river gives it a soft, curving edge, EDSA provides a strong axis, and the street pattern shifts from tight neighbourhood lanes to the larger blocks of the business district.
The river winds along the southern border. Its bends mark the city limit and give the map a natural, curving edge that contrasts with the straight roads.
The metro ring road cuts through Mandaluyong in a bold, direct line. The MRT follows it, and the city's busiest intersections sit along its length.
On the eastern side, the larger blocks of the Ortigas business district replace the finer residential grid, which changes the texture of the map.

Mandaluyong is where many people in Manila live, work or commute through each day. A poster of it turns a familiar daily route into a clear, graphic image.
