The historic core
The old town is a dense, compact block of streets and squares around the Pico castle. On the poster it forms the darkest, most detailed area, clearly set apart from the growth around it.

Mirandola lies in the lowlands of the province of Modena, in country so flat that roads and drainage channels run for long distances without bending. From above, the town has a dense historic core with a clearly defined outline. A wider ring of newer neighbourhoods, industrial areas and roads surrounds it, and beyond that the regular pattern of Emilian farmland.
For centuries the town was the seat of the Pico family, whose castle still dominates the centre. Its best-known son is Giovanni Pico della Mirandola, the Renaissance philosopher whose Oration on the Dignity of Man became a key text of humanism. In more recent decades Mirandola has become known as the centre of an important biomedical industry. The town was also badly damaged in the 2012 Emilia earthquakes.
A Mirandola map poster captures the layering typical of the Po plain: a tightly packed old centre, the looser blocks of twentieth-century growth, and the straight country roads leading out towards neighbouring towns. There are no hills or coastline, so the composition relies on the street pattern alone, and it is well suited to a clean monochrome print.
The old town is a dense, compact block of streets and squares around the Pico castle. On the poster it forms the darkest, most detailed area, clearly set apart from the growth around it.
Straight roads leave the centre in several directions across the plain. From above they make a simple star-like frame, typical of towns in this part of Emilia-Romagna.
Around the town, fields and drainage channels follow a regular geometry. At larger print sizes this rural grid fills the margins and gives the centre a calm, open setting.

Ko e hā ʻa Mirandola
Mirandola means something specific to many people: a hometown, a Renaissance name met in a philosophy course, or a place rebuilt after 2012. Its compact centre on an open plain makes a quietly striking map, and it gives the town a place on the wall.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a street, a family name or a meaningful date. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper suits the old centre especially well.
