Narashino sits on the northern shore of Tokyo Bay in Chiba Prefecture, between Funabashi and Chiba City. It is small and densely built, and from above it divides into two landscapes. Inland is an older network of irregular residential streets on higher ground. Toward the bay is reclaimed land, laid out in larger blocks with straighter roads.
Several rail lines cross the city, and Tsudanuma Station is a busy junction and commercial centre. Between the reclaimed districts, the Yatsu tidal flat has survived as an open area of water and mud. It is an important stopover for migratory birds and is listed as a Ramsar wetland. On a map it appears as a clear, open shape surrounded by city.
A Narashino map poster shows the texture of a Tokyo-area suburb in detail. Rail lines cut across dense streets, the reclaimed coast is drawn with straighter lines, and the tidal flat opens a quiet space in the middle. It is a modest place with a surprisingly graphic plan, well suited to anyone who has lived or commuted here.
A protected tidal flat sits among the built-up districts as an open patch of water, the most distinctive shape on the city map.
Toward Tokyo Bay, reclaimed land forms broader blocks and straighter roads, ending in a clean, engineered coastline.
Several rail lines cross the city and meet near Tsudanuma, drawing strong lines through the dense residential streets.

Ko e hā ʻa Narashino
Narashino is the kind of place people live in quietly for years, near a station, a school or the bay. A map of it records that everyday life, and its detailed plan makes a surprisingly strong poster.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Each gives the bay and the tidal flat a different look.
