Ninomiya lies on the coast of Sagami Bay in Kanagawa Prefecture, between Ōiso and Odawara. The town is a narrow band of settlement: the beach and sea on one side, low hills rising on the other, and in between the main transport lines that have followed this coast for centuries. The map reads as a long, layered strip.
The Tōkaidō Main Line and National Route 1 run parallel to the shore, following the path of the historic Tōkaidō road between Edo and Kyoto. Just behind the town, Azumayama Park crowns a hill known for its early spring fields of rapeseed flowers and its views of Mount Fuji and Sagami Bay.
A Ninomiya map poster suits people who love the Shōnan coast or have lived along it, and commuters who chose the town's slower pace over Tokyo or Yokohama. Blueprint clearly brings out the coastline and the rail lines, while Paper gives the composition the feel of an old coastal survey.
The coastline runs along the southern edge of the map as a clean, gently curving line, with a narrow beach between town and sea.
Rail and road lines run side by side parallel to the shore, tracing the route of the old Tōkaidō and dividing the town into bands.
A hilltop park rises behind the town, its green space and winding paths standing out against the denser residential streets near the coast.
