Nisshin lies just east of Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture and is largely residential. From above, its map shows a mixture of older lanes in the valleys and newer planned neighbourhoods with curving streets on the low hills, interrupted by patches of woodland and farmland.
The Tsurumai subway line connects to Meitetsu at Akaike Station in the city, making Nisshin a commuter town with direct links to central Nagoya. Main roads run east toward Toyota and other industrial centres of the region.
The site of Iwasaki Castle, associated with the sixteenth-century Battle of Komaki and Nagakute, stands in the city. A Nisshin map poster shows a calm suburban landscape shaped by gentle relief and the rhythm of railways.
Planned residential districts on the hills feature curved streets and cul-de-sacs, forming soft, rounded patterns across the map.
The rail line through Akaike runs across the city in a smooth line, with denser streets and shops concentrated around the station.
Small rivers cross the city in shallow valleys, where older lanes follow the water and farmland remains between built-up areas.

Nisshin is home for many families working in Nagoya or the Toyota area. A map of its streets gives a precise picture of the neighbourhood where children grew up or where a new home began.
