Pacode lies in Kanyakumari district, at the far southern end of Tamil Nadu, in the fertile strip between the Western Ghats and the sea. The landscape here is intensely green and closely settled, with houses, gardens, coconut groves and paddy fields mixed together. From above there is no clear boundary between town and countryside.
The roads follow old paths rather than a planned grid, winding between fields and ponds and joining the main routes that run through the district. The hills of the Western Ghats rise inland, while the coast is only a short distance away, giving the area its mild, rainy climate.
