Between two rivers
The Coquitlam River runs through the western side and the broad Pitt River forms the eastern edge, so the city appears as land shaped and bounded by moving water.

Port Coquitlam lies where the Coquitlam River and the Pitt River come down toward the Fraser, east of Vancouver. From above, water frames the city on three sides: the Coquitlam River cuts through its western half, the wide Pitt River marks the eastern boundary, and the Fraser runs just to the south. Between them sit flat, low-lying neighbourhoods, industrial land and farm fields protected by dykes.
Transport lines give the map its strong diagonals. The Lougheed Highway crosses the city from west to east, and a large rail yard stretches through the middle, a long band of parallel tracks that reads almost like a drawing tool on the page. North of downtown, residential streets curve into cul-de-sacs as the ground rises toward the forested slopes of the Coast Mountains.
The city is closely tied to Terry Fox, who grew up here before his 1980 Marathon of Hope across Canada. A Port Coquitlam map poster also traces the Traboulay PoCo Trail, a path that follows the rivers and dykes in a loop around much of the city, turning its outline into something you can walk from end to end.

A long band of parallel tracks runs through the centre of the city, one of the most distinctive shapes on the sheet and a reminder of its railway beginnings.
The Traboulay PoCo Trail follows rivers, dykes and parks around much of Port Coquitlam, a loop that sketches the city's boundary on foot.

Ko e hā ʻa Port Coquitlam
Port Coquitlam is a place people raise families in and come back to, and its map shows why: rivers on either side, mountains to the north, quiet streets in between. It works as a housewarming gift or a reminder of a first home in the Lower Mainland.
Add a title, a subtitle such as a street name or a move-in date, and a coordinates line. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to match the room.
