Rio Negrinho sits on the high plateau of northern Santa Catarina, where the land rises and falls in soft ridges covered with pine and native forest. From above, the town follows the valley of the small river that gives it its name. Streets curve with the water and the slopes rather than running in a strict grid, and the built-up area breaks into separate neighbourhoods divided by green hills.
The town grew with European settlers, many of them German-speaking, and later with timber. Rio Negrinho became known in Brazil as a centre of furniture making, and the sawmills and workshops that shaped its economy also shaped its outline. Industrial lots and rail lines sit close to the older centre, and residential streets climb away from the valley floor toward the edge of the forest.
A Rio Negrinho map poster shows a place made by its landscape. The river's thin line winds through the centre, and the street pattern loosens as it moves outward, first into looser blocks and then into rural roads. Printed in black and white, the town looks like a cluster of short, angled streets held between dark, empty hills, with the edges running out into forest and farmland.
The Rio Negrinho winds through the valley at the centre of town, and the older streets bend to follow its banks rather than crossing it on a grid.
Low forested ridges surround the urban area and split it into separate neighbourhoods, so the map shows clusters of streets divided by open ground.
A rail line runs through the valley near the centre, a reminder of the timber and furniture trade that built the town's economy.

For people from Rio Negrinho, the map holds the familiar route along the river, the hills between neighbourhoods and the roads out toward the forest. It is a quiet reminder of home for someone who has moved to a larger city, or a record of a family's years on the plateau.
You can personalise the poster with your own title and a subtitle holding a date, such as a wedding, a birth or a move. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Pick whichever suits the room where it will hang.
