Roxas City, the capital of Capiz province, sits on the northern coast of Panay facing the Sibuyan Sea. On a map, the Panay River loops through the city centre before reaching the coast. Around the urban core lie low wetlands, fishponds and mangrove areas, crossed by roads that lead inland toward the rest of the province.
The city calls itself the Seafood Capital of the Philippines, a reputation built on the fishponds and coastal waters around it. Capiz is also known for its translucent capiz shells, traditionally used in windows and lamps. Baybay Beach, the long public shoreline northeast of the centre, is where much of the city's seafood dining takes place.
A Roxas City map poster shows how closely the town is tied to water: the meandering river, the coastline and the geometric ponds along the shore. The centre is compact and the roads fan out inland from it. It is a meaningful piece for anyone from Capiz, wherever they now live.
The river bends through the heart of the city before meeting the sea, giving the poster a strong, flowing central line crossed by bridges.
Along the shoreline, rectangular fishponds form a precise grid-like pattern that reflects the aquaculture behind the city's seafood reputation.
A long, straight stretch of beach runs along the coast, marking a clean boundary between the city's streets and the open sea.

Ko e hā ʻa Roxas City
Many Capizeños live far from home, and a map of Roxas City is a gentle way to keep the river, the coast and the old streets close. It also makes a considered gift for a homecoming or a family milestone.
