Sincelejo is the capital of the Sucre Department. It sits inland on the Caribbean plains of northern Colombia, a short drive from the Gulf of Morrosquillo. From above, the historic centre is a tight cluster of blocks around the main plaza and cathedral. From there the city spreads outward in irregular neighbourhoods that follow the gentle rise and fall of the surrounding savanna.
The region is known for cattle ranching and for its music and festivals, including the fandango and the corralejas held during the January fiestas. None of that shows on a map, but the landscape that shaped it does: open land, scattered roads to outlying towns, and a city that grew by reaching steadily into the countryside.
A Sincelejo map poster captures the contrast between the orderly colonial core and the looser growth beyond it. Main roads leave the city like spokes toward Corozal, Tolú and the coast, and in black and white their lines give the composition movement. It shows a regional capital at its working scale.
The oldest blocks gather around the main square and cathedral. They form the densest and most regular part of the street pattern, at the heart of the map.
Several main roads run out from the city toward the Gulf of Morrosquillo and neighbouring towns, drawing long lines across the savanna.
Sincelejo's outer neighbourhoods follow the gentle terrain rather than a strict grid, so the city's edges curve and branch in an organic, uneven outline.

Ko e hā ʻa Sincelejo
People who grew up in Sincelejo often keep the city close through its music and food. A map adds the streets themselves. It suits a hallway or a study, or makes a gift for someone who moved to Barranquilla, Bogotá or abroad.
Add a personal title, subtitle and coordinates line, then choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to warm Sand. Download 300 DPI PNG and PDF files for $9, or order a matte print shipped from a nearby print partner.
