Sirsi lies in the Sambhal area of western Uttar Pradesh, on the level alluvial plain between the Ganges and the Ramganga. At street scale the map is dense. Narrow lanes twist and branch through the older quarter, and houses stand close together. Toward the edges the streets thin out into the geometry of farmland: straight field paths, small irrigation channels and roads heading to neighbouring villages.
