Ko e mape
Sungkai is a town in southern Perak, Malaysia, set on the lowland corridor between the foothills of the Titiwangsa range and the coastal plains. The old trunk road and the west coast railway line both pass through, and the North–South Expressway runs close by, so the map is organised around a few long parallel routes that carry traffic between Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh.
The town itself is compact, a short stretch of commercial streets and residential lanes gathered along the main road, with newer housing estates on the edges. Beyond them, the land is covered by a regular pattern of oil palm and rubber plantations, whose estate roads draw thin geometric lines across the map, while forested hills rise to the east.
A Sungkai map poster shows the town as it appears to anyone driving through southern Perak: a small, orderly settlement framed by plantations and hills. The area is known for its natural hot springs and for a wildlife reserve nearby, both reached by roads leading off into the green country around the town, which give the edges of the map a quiet, open character.
The old main road and the west coast railway run through Sungkai close together, forming the town's backbone and the strongest straight lines on the poster.
Oil palm and rubber estates surround the town, their internal roads laid out in regular patterns that create a fine geometric texture across much of the map.
To the east, the land rises into forested foothills, where roads become fewer and more winding, leaving large empty areas that contrast with the settled lowland.
