Tallkalakh lies in the west of Homs Governorate, where the Homs Gap opens a natural corridor between the coastal mountains of Syria and the mountains of Lebanon. The town occupies rising ground above the surrounding plain, so its streets bend to follow the slopes, with the older core at its heart and newer districts spreading down and outward.
Just to the south, the Nahr al-Kabir river marks much of the border with Lebanon, while the wider district includes the Krak des Chevaliers, the Crusader castle listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which stands on a ridge to the north. On a regional map these features frame the town between river valley and uplands.
A Tallkalakh map poster records the town's layout in plain, careful lines: curving hillside streets, the roads that lead toward Homs and the border, and the farmland that surrounds it. It is a meaningful piece for people with roots here, many of whom now live elsewhere and keep the place close through images like this.
The town's roads curve around the contours of its rise, producing a looser, more organic pattern than the plains below and giving the centre of the poster a sculpted look.
The town lies on the natural corridor between two mountain ranges, and a wider frame shows the open lowland stretching east toward Homs.
To the south, the valley of the Nahr al-Kabir traces the frontier with Lebanon, a meandering line that adds a natural edge to a wider map view.
