Tamu lies in Myanmar's Sagaing Region, at the Indian border opposite the town of Moreh in Manipur. It is one of the main land crossings between the two countries, and much of the town's life has revolved around cross-border trade. On a map, its position right at the frontier defines the whole composition.
The town sits in the Kabaw Valley, a strip of lowland with forested hills rising on either side. Streets are laid out on the valley floor, and the main road runs toward the border crossing. Beyond the built-up area the map opens into fields and wooded slopes.
A Tamu map poster makes that position legible: a compact town, a road aimed at the border, hills pressing in from the sides. In print it has a strong sense of direction, a small place drawn toward the crossing that has shaped it.
The main route leading to the crossing with Moreh is the town's defining line, giving the map a clear sense of direction and purpose.
The flat valley holds the streets and farmland, a level band between higher ground that frames the town on the map.
Tamu and Moreh face each other across the border, and a wider crop can show both settlements as one connected urban shape.

Ko e hā ʻa Tamu
Tamu matters to traders, travellers and families on both sides of the border, and a map of it records a place defined by connection. It is an unusual subject that makes a quietly meaningful print.
You can personalise the title and subtitle, for example with a journey date, and edit the coordinates line. Choose one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
