Tekkali sits in Srikakulam district, on the flat coastal plain that runs between the Eastern Ghats and the Bay of Bengal. The land around it is low and heavily farmed, and from above the town appears as a cluster of streets set among rectangular fields and irrigation tanks. The national highway along the east coast passes close by, heading north toward Odisha.
The town serves as a local administrative and market centre for the surrounding villages, and it was once the seat of a zamindari estate. Beyond that, its identity comes from the agricultural landscape it serves: paddy fields, water reservoirs, and the rural roads linking them to the market streets at the centre.
A Tekkali map poster shows a settlement shaped by its plain. Streets knit together densely at the core and loosen as they run out into the fields. Tanks appear as solid, rounded shapes, and the highway draws a long line across the frame. In monochrome, the result is a quiet, balanced image of a working town on India's east coast.
The main east-coast highway runs past Tekkali, the strongest line on the map, connecting the town to Srikakulam in one direction and Odisha in the other.
Reservoirs and tanks scattered around the town appear as solid shapes among the fields, a characteristic feature of the farmed coastal plain in this part of Andhra Pradesh.
The older centre forms a compact knot of streets where roads from surrounding villages converge, contrasting with the open, geometric field pattern at the edges.

Ko e hā ʻa Tekkali
Tekkali is the kind of place people carry with them after moving to Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad or abroad. A map is an honest portrait of home: the lanes you walked, the highway you left by, the fields that surround it all.
