Tha Yang lies on the low coastal plain of Phetchaburi province, south of Phetchaburi town, where the land runs down from the Tenasserim hills toward the Gulf of Thailand. The Phetchaburi River passes through the district. On a map its bends give the town a natural spine, and the built-up streets cluster close to the water and the main road.
The Phet Kasem highway, Thailand's long route south toward the peninsula, runs through this part of the province. It appears as a firm straight line against the finer grain of local lanes. Around the town the pattern opens into farmland crossed by irrigation channels and small roads, and toward the west the ground rises into forested country.
A Tha Yang map poster shows provincial Thailand without the tourist coastline. The drawing is made of a river, a highway, market streets and field boundaries. In monochrome the paddies become quiet white spaces between thin dark lines, and the town reads as a small, dense knot where road and river meet.
The river curves through the district on its way to the Gulf. It is the most organic line on the map, and the older part of the town sits close to its banks.
The main highway south cuts a long, confident stroke across the plain. It contrasts sharply with the small lanes and field tracks around it.
Outside the centre, canals and farm roads divide the flat land into a loose patchwork. In black and white it has a surprisingly delicate texture.

This is a map for people who know Tha Yang from family visits, from stopping on the road south, or from a childhood by the river. It records a place that most wall maps leave out.
