Tibiri lies in the Maradi Region of southern Niger, a short distance from the city of Maradi and close to the border with Nigeria. It is known as the traditional seat of the Sultan of Gobir, one of the historic Hausa states, which gives the town a significance beyond its size.
The map reflects its Sahelian setting. Streets are generally unpaved lanes between walled family compounds, forming an irregular but dense pattern, with open spaces used for markets and gatherings. Around the town, farmland stretches across the valley, divided by paths and seasonal watercourses.
A Tibiri map poster presents this landscape in simple, clear lines. The texture of compounds, lanes and fields is distinctive, and it shows how a historic town fits into the agricultural plains of southern Niger.
Walled family compounds create a dense, irregular mesh of lanes, a characteristic pattern of Hausa towns in the Sahel.
Tibiri is the traditional seat of the Sultan of Gobir, and the town's centre carries that historic role within its layout.
Fields surround the town across the Maradi valley, with footpaths and seasonal streams tracing fine lines between them.
