Tubize sits in Walloon Brabant, south of Brussels, in the valley of the Senne. On a map, the town centre forms a dense cluster of older streets, while the municipality spreads out to include several former villages, each with its own small core. The Brussels–Charleroi canal passes through the municipality near Clabecq, a straight engineered waterway that contrasts with the meander of the Senne. Clabecq was long known for its steelworks, a major industrial site of the region. Tubize is also home to the Belgian football federation's national training centre, where the national teams prepare.
