Tulsa grew rapidly in the early twentieth century after oil was struck nearby, and for decades it called itself the Oil Capital of the World. That money built a compact downtown with one of the country's notable collections of Art Deco buildings. On a map the core is easy to find: a tight grid enclosed by a loop of freeways known as the Inner Dispersal Loop.
The Arkansas River runs along the southwest side of the city in a broad, shallow channel. Riverside Drive and a chain of parks follow its east bank, including the Gathering Place, which opened in 2018. North of downtown lies Greenwood, the district once known as Black Wall Street, which was destroyed in the 1921 race massacre.
A Tulsa map poster covers all of this in a single frame. You see the loop around downtown, the river, the midtown neighbourhoods of curving streets to the south, and the old Route 66 alignment crossing town. Beyond them, the long mile-section roads of the plains extend outward, giving the edges of the map an orderly, spacious rhythm.

A wide river channel runs southwest of downtown, with parkland and trails along its east bank, including the Gathering Place, opened in 2018.
North of downtown lies the historic heart of Black Tulsa. It was rebuilt after 1921, later divided by highway construction, and is now remembered at Greenwood Rising.

Tulsa has a strong sense of local identity, and people who move away tend to keep it. A map of the river, the loop and the neighbourhoods around them is a direct way to hold on to a hometown or mark a new one.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a street name or the year you arrived, and pick one of five styles. Classic black & white echoes the city's Art Deco lines. Choose instant digital files or a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
