Villaguay lies in the interior of Entre Ríos, in the gently rolling farmland between Argentina's two great rivers, the Paraná and the Uruguay. From above, it is a classic town of the region: a regular checkerboard of square blocks laid out around a central plaza, with its edges fading into fields and pasture. Rural roads run out from the grid in long straight lines.
Water gives the map its softer lines. The Villaguay stream and smaller watercourses wind through the surrounding countryside, their curves and wooded banks breaking the flat geometry of the farmland. Road connections to the rest of the province leave the town in several directions.
The department around Villaguay is known for the Jewish agricultural colonies founded here in the late nineteenth century, part of the story of the so-called Jewish gauchos of Entre Ríos. A Villaguay map poster shows the town those settlers and many others came to trade and live in: an orderly grid, quietly set in a wide open landscape.
Square blocks spread evenly around the main plaza, a textbook Argentine layout that reads as a crisp, balanced pattern on paper.
Winding watercourses cross the surrounding land, their curves providing the natural contrast to the straight lines of the grid and roads.
Fields and pasture surround the town on all sides, leaving wide empty space in the poster that gives the grid its clean edges.

Ko e hā ʻa Villaguay
Families from Villaguay, including many descendants of the colonists, often keep a strong attachment to the town wherever they now live. A framed map of its streets is a simple way to keep that connection visible at home.
Make it yours with a custom title and subtitle, perhaps a surname or the year a family arrived, and an edited coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand echoes the pampas landscape.
