Xininglu is in northern Xinjiang, on the long band of land where the northern slopes of the Tian Shan fall toward the Dzungarian Basin. Across this belt, snowmelt rivers from the mountains feed a chain of oases and towns. Settlement usually follows the water and the east–west transport routes.
On a map, the place has the planned, practical look found across much of this region. Straight roads and regular blocks are laid out on flat ground, surrounded by large rectangular fields and shelter-belts of trees. Beyond the cultivated land, the network fades into open steppe and desert toward the basin, and the mountains rise to the south.
A Xininglu map poster shows that geometry clearly. The ruled lines of streets, fields and irrigation channels stand against the empty ground around them. It is a spare, orderly composition, typical of the settlements along the northern Silk Road corridor.
The settlement is laid out with straight roads and regular blocks. The result is a clear, geometric pattern with few curves.
Large rectangular fields and tree-lined shelter-belts surround the built-up area. They extend the grid across the land wherever water reaches.
Between the Tian Shan to the south and the Dzungarian Basin to the north, the map shows how cultivated land gives way to open, dry ground.

For people who have lived or worked in this part of Xinjiang, the map is an exact reminder of a landscape that is hard to capture in photographs: long, straight roads, fields and distance. It also suits admirers of minimalist, geometric maps.
You can write your own title and subtitle and keep or edit the coordinates line. Then select Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint emphasises the regular layout.
