Yumare sits in the low country of northern Yaracuy, in Venezuela's central-western region, where the land flattens out before rising toward the hills. From above, the town reads as a small, fairly regular cluster of blocks. The town is the administrative seat of the Manuel Monge municipality, so civic life gathers in a modest centre.
