Yurihonjō lies in the southwest of Akita Prefecture, facing the Sea of Japan. The city was formed in 2005 by merging the former city of Honjō with several surrounding towns, so its map covers far more than an urban centre: a straight coastline, river valleys running inland, rice paddies and forested hills rising toward the mountains.
The Koyoshi River reaches the sea beside the old centre, which grew as a castle town under the Rokugō clan during the Edo period. On paper its streets form a modest, orderly pattern close to the river mouth, while the railway line along the coast and the valley roads pull the composition inland.
To the south stands Mount Chōkai, a large volcano on the Akita–Yamagata border often called the Fuji of Dewa. A Yurihonjō map poster can take in the coast and the river mouth, or widen out to show how the city spreads through rice farmland and forested valleys toward the mountain slopes.
The river winds down from the interior and meets the Sea of Japan beside the city centre, giving the map a clear, curving spine.
A long, almost straight shoreline forms the western edge of the city, a clean boundary that makes the dense centre stand out against open water.
Honjō grew around a castle held by the Rokugō clan, and its compact centre near the river still reflects that older town layout.

Ko e hā ʻa Yurihonjō
Yurihonjō suits people who know rural Akita: the snowy winters, the rice fields and the view of Mount Chōkai from the coast. The map shows a quieter Japan than the big cities, with space and water shaping the whole design.
Add a personal title and subtitle, perhaps a year you lived there or a family name, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room it will hang in.
