Zhumadian sits in southern Henan, where the North China Plain flattens into farmland threaded with small rivers and irrigation channels. From above, the city reads as a grid of wide avenues and large blocks set into that level country. Low ranges begin to rise only toward the west of the prefecture, so the urban core itself has almost no terrain to bend its roads.
The name translates roughly as a post-horse station, a reminder that this was a stop on an old relay route long before it was a city. Its modern growth came with the Beijing–Guangzhou railway, and the line still runs through town from north to south. On a Zhumadian map poster the tracks form a steady spine, with the newer high-speed corridor adding a second long stroke across the sheet.
Away from the centre, the pattern changes. Dense older neighbourhoods near the station give way to newer districts with long, evenly spaced arterials, and those in turn fade into a patchwork of village lanes and field boundaries. In black and white, that shift from compact streets to open plain gives the print a clear edge instead of a hard city limit.
The Beijing–Guangzhou line runs straight through the city from north to south. It divides the street grid into two halves and acts as the main reference line on the map.
With almost no hills in the urban area, the roads follow long straight lines and near-right angles. The result is a regular, architectural pattern of large blocks and wide boulevards.
Small rivers and drainage channels cross the surrounding farmland of the Huai basin. They show as thin winding lines against the straight roads and field edges around the city.

Ko e hā ʻa Zhumadian
Zhumadian is a place people often leave for study or work and keep coming back to. A map of its straight avenues and the railway through the middle is a quiet way to keep home on the wall, whether you grew up near the station or in one of the newer districts.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a family name, a neighbourhood or a date that matters to you. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the $9 HD files or order a printed poster, framed or unframed.
