Ayutuxtepeque Map Poster & Print
Ayutuxtepeque is one of the municipalities of the San Salvador metropolitan area, lying just north of the capital beside Mejicanos. On a map its southern part merges with the city's residential neighbourhoods. The northern side becomes steeper and greener, with streets following ridges and ravines instead of any regular pattern.
The terrain is volcanic and broken, like much of the San Salvador valley, and small streams have cut deep channels that interrupt the street network. Residential colonias and older village streets sit side by side. The drawing alternates between tight clusters of blocks and open patches of hillside vegetation.
The name comes from the Nahuat language, a reminder of the area's older roots beneath the modern suburbs. An Ayutuxtepeque map poster is a detailed portrait of the edge of a capital, where urban growth meets rugged ground. It suits anyone who has lived in or grown up on the northern side of San Salvador.

Urban edge
In the south the streets join smoothly with Mejicanos and the rest of the capital. The map shows exactly where the metropolitan grid starts to break up.
Northern slopes
Toward the north the ground rises and the streets thin out, following the terrain in curves. Buildings become more scattered among trees and open land.
