Walled old town
The historic core is a tight oval of narrow streets, still outlined by the course of its old walls, and it forms the densest part of the map.

Babenhausen Map Poster & Print
Babenhausen lies in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district of southern Hesse, between Darmstadt and Aschaffenburg. From above, the old town is easy to find. It is a compact, roughly oval core of narrow streets, still partly enclosed by the line of its former walls, with the castle at one edge and the church near the centre.
The Gersprenz river flows past the town through a flat, green valley, and later neighbourhoods have grown up beyond the old core in looser streets and cul-de-sacs. Large former military barracks on the edge of town, once used by the US Army, form another distinct block on the map and have since been redeveloped for new uses.
A Babenhausen map poster sets these layers side by side: the close medieval centre, the castle, the river valley and the wider streets of the twentieth century. It is a neat, readable portrait of a small German town that has kept its historic outline.

Babenhausen castle
The castle stands at the edge of the old town, its footprint a clear, solid shape at the boundary between the old streets and the land beyond.
Gersprenz valley
The river and its meadows run past the town, drawing a soft green line that separates the built-up area from the open countryside.
