Mittelland Canal
The canal crosses the map in a single straight stroke, with harbour basins and bridges along it. It is the most striking geometric element in the composition.

Bad Essen Map Poster & Print
Bad Essen is in the Osnabrück Land of Lower Saxony, where the wooded ridge of the Wiehengebirge drops down to the North German Plain. On the map, the town stretches along the foot of the hills. Its streets climb gently toward the forest, while the Mittelland Canal runs in a long, dead-straight line across the lowland just below.
The town is a recognised spa, with a saline spring, and its small old centre keeps half-timbered houses clustered around the church. Nearby, in the hills above Barkhausen, a quarry face preserves dinosaur footprints, one of the better-known sites of its kind in Germany. Villages and farmsteads are scattered across the surrounding municipality.
A Bad Essen map poster brings together three very different lines. There is the organic contour of a forested ridge, the tight weave of an old village centre and the ruler-straight canal. The contrast makes it a surprisingly graphic print for a small spa town, and a fine reminder of walks and cures taken there.

Wiehengebirge slope
The wooded ridge rises to the south of town. Few roads cross it, so the hills appear as a quiet, open band above the streets.
Half-timbered centre
The old core around the church forms a small, dense knot of lanes, clearly different from the looser residential areas that spread out from it.
