Baicheng Map Poster & Print
Baicheng lies in the northwest of Jilin Province, where the Songnen Plain opens toward Inner Mongolia. The land is almost completely flat, and the map shows it. Wide avenues run in long straight lines and divide the city into large rectangular blocks, with few hills or coastlines to bend them. The Taoer River crosses the wider area and adds one of the few curves to the landscape.
The city grew as a rail junction, and several lines converge here on their way across the northeast. On the map their gentle curves and yards stand out against the rigid street pattern. A Baicheng map poster shows a plains city where the railways and planned avenues decide the layout.
The surrounding prefecture includes wetlands and grasslands known for migrating cranes and other birds. They lie well outside the city streets, but they explain the quiet, open feel at its edges. Here the grid thins into farmland that stretches toward the horizon in every direction.

Railway junction
Several rail lines converge on the city. Their curves and sidings cut across the rectangular pattern and are among the most distinctive lines on the map.
Open plain edges
At the city limits, the street grid gives way to open farmland. The flat setting on the Songnen Plain is plain to see.
