Market town core
At the centre, lanes and small blocks pack together tightly. On a black-and-white map this creates a dark, fine-grained cluster, and the rest of the town radiates out from it.

Balod Map Poster & Print
Balod is the headquarters of Balod district in central Chhattisgarh. The district was created in 2012. From above, the town is a compact settlement set in a wide agricultural plain, and the pattern of the surrounding fields is almost as visible as the streets themselves. Roads leave the centre in several directions and connect it to the villages around.
The town's layout is typical of a market centre in this region. There is a dense core of lanes and small blocks, with newer construction spreading more loosely along the main roads. Around the edges are ponds and water tanks, which appear as small pale shapes among the buildings. The Tandula reservoir, an important water source for the area, lies close by.
A Balod map poster focuses on that relationship between town and land. The streets thin out toward open fields, and the roads run straight across the plain before disappearing at the edge of the frame. It is a modest place to draw, and it shows plainly how a district town sits among the farmland that supports it.

Tanks and ponds
Small bodies of water are scattered through and around the town. On the poster they appear as quiet open shapes that break up the pattern of the streets.
Roads across the plain
Several routes leave Balod and cross the flat countryside toward nearby villages and towns. They give the composition a clear set of lines that point outward.
