Newar old town
The historic centre forms a tight, irregular cluster of lanes and small squares, visibly older and denser than the streets that surround it.

Banepā Map Poster & Print
Banepā lies in Kavrepalanchok district, a short distance beyond the eastern rim of the Kathmandu Valley, in a small basin surrounded by terraced hills. The Arniko Highway, which runs from Kathmandu toward the Tibetan border, passes through the town, and on a map it forms the strongest line, with newer buildings stretched along it and the older quarters set slightly apart.
The historic core is a Newar town of narrow lanes, brick houses and small squares, and its compact, irregular street pattern stands out clearly from the linear growth along the highway. Just outside the town, the Chandeshwori temple is one of the best-known sacred sites in the area and the focus of a long-standing local festival.
Neighbouring Dhulikhel, known for its Himalayan views, lies a few kilometres further along the same road. A Banepā map poster captures the town in its setting of terraced slopes and small valleys, where old lanes, a busy highway and rising farmland are compressed into a single, well-balanced frame.

Arniko Highway
The main road from Kathmandu toward the Tibetan border passes through the town, drawing a long bending line with development gathered along it.
Terraced hillsides
Around the basin, roads and paths curve along the contours of farmed slopes, giving the outer sheet a soft, layered rhythm.
