Road junction
The town grew around the meeting of its main routes. They leave the centre in long, nearly straight lines across the plateau and give the composition its structure.

Chitembo Map Poster & Print
Chitembo lies in the south of Bié province, on the broad central plateau that forms the high heart of Angola. The map shows a modest settlement where a few main roads meet, surrounded by long stretches of open land. The built-up blocks thin out quickly into scattered homesteads, tracks and patches of farmland that follow the gentle rise and fall of the upland.
The Bié plateau is known as the area where several of Angola's major rivers begin, flowing in different directions toward the Atlantic and the interior. Around Chitembo this gives the land a pattern of shallow valleys and streams. They are faint on the ground but clear on a map, where they show as fine lines weaving between the roads.
A Chitembo map poster is a study in space. With so much of the frame given to countryside, each street and junction carries more weight, and the town appears as a small knot of lines in a wide field. It suits anyone who prefers restraint on a wall and wants a map that feels open rather than crowded.

Upland streams
Small streams cut shallow valleys through the surrounding high ground. Their thin, curving lines soften the straight geometry of the roads and tracks.
Open plateau
Beyond the edge of town the map is mostly quiet, with scattered tracks and settlements. That emptiness is part of the picture and gives the centre room to stand out.
