Closed lagoon
The centre of the atoll is a lagoon enclosed by land, with no channel to the ocean. It forms a large, calm space in the middle of the map.

Clipperton Island Map Poster & Print
Clipperton Island is one of the most isolated places on the map, a small coral atoll in the eastern Pacific Ocean, far off the coast of Mexico. It is an overseas possession of France. From above it is nearly a perfect ring: a narrow strip of land surrounding a lagoon that has no open connection to the sea.
The land itself is low and flat, apart from one volcanic outcrop, known as Clipperton Rock, on the southeastern edge. There are no roads or towns, and the island has been uninhabited for most of its history. It is visited occasionally by scientific expeditions, and it is known for large colonies of seabirds and land crabs.
A Clipperton Island map poster is almost pure geometry: an outer shoreline, an inner shoreline and the stillness of the lagoon between them. It is the kind of place people know from atlases, stories and remote-island curiosity rather than from travel. That makes it an unusual subject for a print, one that looks more like an abstract drawing than a map.

Ring of land
A slender band of coral land circles the lagoon, shown as a thin, continuous outline with only a few irregularities along its length.
Clipperton Rock
A small volcanic outcrop on the southeastern side is the only high ground on an otherwise flat atoll. It is marked as a small point on the ring.

Neden Clipperton Island
Anlam taşıyan bir harita
For collectors of remote places, Clipperton is a favourite: a real island that almost no one will ever see. Its ring shape makes a quiet, abstract print that invites questions from anyone who notices it on the wall.
Change the title and subtitle to suit the story you want to tell, and adjust the coordinates line if you like. The map comes in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
