Terrain-led streets
Main roads follow the lie of the land, bending around slopes instead of running straight, so the network reads more like a branching river system than a grid.

Datong Map Poster & Print
Datong lies in the far south of Chongqing Municipality, not far from the Guizhou border, in a region of ridges, terraced slopes and narrow valleys. From above, the town does not spread out evenly the way lowland towns do. Its streets gather on the flatter ground and stretch in whatever direction the terrain allows, giving the map an elongated, organic outline.
Roads wind in from neighbouring towns following contours rather than straight lines, and the built-up area thins quickly where the ground rises. Smaller clusters of buildings sit along these routes like beads on a string, a pattern common across rural Chongqing, where every usable level patch of land has long been put to work.
Datong is not a town with a famous skyline, and that is exactly its appeal. A Datong map poster shows the quiet logic of a hill settlement, where geography rather than planning decides the shape of the streets. In monochrome, the curving roads and compact centre make a restrained, almost calligraphic composition.

Compact centre
The densest part of town gathers on the most level ground, forming a small, tight core from which the rest of the settlement trails outward along the roads.
Scattered hamlets
Beyond the centre, small clusters of houses line the roads into the hills, adding a light, dotted texture to the edges of the poster.

Neden Datong
Anlam taşıyan bir harita
For anyone with roots in this corner of Chongqing, a map of Datong is a rare thing to find, and far more personal than a view of the city centre far to the north. It also clearly sets this Datong apart from the much larger city of the same name in Shanxi.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family name or a year, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. A free watermarked 900 px preview lets you check the framing before buying the $9 HD files.
