Dēra Map Poster & Print
Dēra is a town in the Oromia region of Ethiopia, set on high ground at the edge of the Ethiopian Rift Valley, south of Addis Ababa. From above, it appears as a compact grid of streets and plots gathered around a main road, with farmland and scattered homesteads extending across the surrounding countryside in every direction.
The landscape here combines cultivated fields, grazing land and seasonal watercourses, with the terrain dropping toward the Rift Valley floor. Roads connect the town with neighbouring settlements and with the wider route network of central Ethiopia. On a map, the regular blocks of the centre stand out clearly against the open, softly textured land around them.
A Dēra map poster presents the town in a simple, graphic form: the main road as a strong line, the grid of streets alongside it and the countryside as quiet negative space. It is a meaningful piece for people from the area, including members of the diaspora who want the shape of their home town on the wall.

Street grid
Regular blocks and plots make up the centre of Dēra, a small, orderly pattern that reads clearly even at the smaller print sizes.
Rift Valley edge
Around the town, open farmland slopes toward the Rift Valley, and the sparse network of tracks gives the edges of the poster a light, open feel.
