Douglas Map Poster & Print
Douglas sits on the U.S.–Mexico border in the southeast corner of Arizona, and its map is defined by that line. A regular grid of wide streets runs north from the border, then gives way to open desert grassland. Directly south, the Mexican city of Agua Prieta continues the urban pattern, so the two towns read as one settlement divided by a single straight boundary.
The town was founded in the early 1900s as a copper smelting centre and named after James Douglas, a mining executive. The smelter shaped the town for most of the twentieth century and closed in 1987. The historic Gadsden Hotel on G Avenue remains one of the best-known buildings in town, a reminder of the prosperity copper once brought.
A Douglas map poster captures a place where geometry and geography meet. The straight streets, the border crossing and the open land around them combine into a composition that is bold and easy to read. It is a strong choice for anyone connected to the borderlands, where two countries and two street grids meet along one line.

Wide street grid
Douglas was laid out on a generous, regular grid, and its broad avenues give the map an open, measured texture typical of early twentieth-century western towns.
Desert margins
Beyond the last blocks, the grid stops and the open grassland of the Sulphur Springs Valley takes over, leaving the town as a sharp shape in empty land.

Neden Douglas
Anlam taşıyan bir harita
Douglas holds meaning for families with roots on both sides of the border, for people who worked at the smelter, and for anyone who has crossed there. A map of the town records that shared place without needing words.
