The valley corridor
Roads, railway and buildings share the same strip of flat land, so the town appears as one elongated band of streets stretching east toward Xining.

Duoba Map Poster & Print
Duoba lies in Huangzhong District on the western side of Xining, the capital of Qinghai province. It sits in a river valley well over two thousand metres above sea level, on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau. From above, the town is shaped by that valley: a long, stretched settlement where roads, rail and housing run side by side along the floor, with dry hills pressing in from both sides.
The Huangshui River runs through the valley toward Xining, and much of the street pattern follows its line. Newer development has filled the flatter ground with larger rectangular blocks, while older lanes and farm plots remain closer to the slopes. On a map, the town reads as a band of dense lines tightening and widening with the valley, framed by empty space where the terrain rises.
Because the landscape does so much of the work, a Duoba map poster has a strong, simple composition: a channel of streets running across the sheet, the river at its centre and quiet margins above and below. It is an unusual subject for wall art, and that is part of the appeal for anyone with a connection to this corner of Qinghai.

Huangshui River
The river threads through the middle of the valley, giving the map a soft central line that contrasts with the straighter roads running beside it.
Hill margins
Where the slopes rise, the street network thins out quickly, leaving wide open areas above and below that give the poster room to breathe.
