Planned subdivisions
Neighbourhoods of looping streets and cul-de-sacs fill the spaces between the arterial roads. Each tract has its own pattern, which gives the map a fine, repeating texture.

Eastvale Map Poster & Print
Eastvale, in western Riverside County, is one of California's newer cities. It incorporated in 2010, and much of it was dairy land until the early 2000s. That history is clear from above. The map is dominated by master-planned subdivisions with looping streets, cul-de-sacs, parks and schools, laid out in large sections between straight arterial roads.
The southern and eastern side of the city is defined by the Santa Ana River and its broad floodplain. This shows up as a wide, open band where the housing stops. To the west, Interstate 15 runs along the city's edge, with commercial centres grouped near its interchanges. Chino and Jurupa Valley border the city.
The contrast between the tightly curved residential streets and the straight grid of the main roads gives the map a distinctive texture. A Eastvale map poster shows the pattern of a modern Southern California suburb with unusual clarity, framed by the river on one side and the freeway on the other.

Santa Ana River
The river's wide floodplain runs along the southern side of the city. It forms a broad open strip that clearly marks the limit of development.
Arterial grid
Straight main roads divide the city into large blocks, a trace of the agricultural sections that came before. The curving residential streets sit inside this frame.
