Hillside streets
Roads bend and climb across the town's slopes, creating a flowing street pattern that is far more organic than the grids found in many other Paris suburbs.

Gagny Map Poster & Print
Gagny is a commune in Seine-Saint-Denis, roughly fifteen kilometres east of central Paris. The town sits on uneven ground rising toward the plateaus that border the Marne valley, and its streets follow the slopes in curves and bends rather than a strict grid. Much of the map is filled with the small plots of detached houses, the pavillons typical of the eastern suburbs.
For centuries the hills around Gagny were quarried for gypsum, used to make plaster, and parts of the former quarries have since become parks and green spaces. The Lac de Maison Blanche is one of the town's best-known spots. Gagny is served by the RER E, which runs through the commune and links it directly to central Paris.
A Gagny map poster captures the winding residential streets, the rail line crossing the commune, and the parks and lake that break up the housing. It is a detailed, softly irregular map, quite unlike the rigid boulevards of Paris, and it gives a true picture of life in the eastern suburbs.

Former quarries
Areas once dug for gypsum now appear on the map as green spaces and irregular open ground, gaps in the housing that trace the town's industrial past.
RER E line
The railway crosses Gagny in a firm straight line with the station at its centre, connecting the commune to Paris in a short journey and dividing the map clearly.
