The railway line
The line to Moscow's Belorussky station runs straight through the town, and the station area at its heart is where the street pattern is densest.

Golitsyno Map Poster & Print
Golitsyno lies in the Odintsovo district of Moscow Oblast, west of the capital. Two parallel transport lines set the shape of its map: the railway from Moscow's Belorussky station and the highway heading toward Minsk. The town stretches along them, with blocks of apartment buildings, streets of private houses and dachas, and patches of forest in between.
The town takes its name from the Golitsyn family, the princely dynasty that once owned land in the area. It developed around the railway station, which is still its busiest point. Like many settlements outside Moscow, it combines permanent homes with summer houses in the surrounding woods.
A Golitsyno map poster shows the linear growth of a railway town. The tracks and the highway run across the frame in long, confident lines. The streets branch off them in small, irregular grids, and the woodland softens the edges. It is a map that suits anyone who knows the commute from Moscow and back.

The Minsk highway
A major highway runs parallel to the railway and forms a second strong line across the map. It shows how the town is built along routes west from Moscow.
Dachas and forest
Beyond the centre, streets of private houses and dacha plots mix with birch and pine woods, leaving the outer parts of the map loosely and softly drawn.
