Temple town core
The centre is a dense weave of short, irregular lanes. On the map it reads as a darker knot of streets against the more open grid of newer neighbourhoods at the edges.

Hāngal Map Poster & Print
Seen from above, Hāngal is a tight cluster of lanes set in open, cultivated country in Haveri district. The older core is dense and irregular, with short streets bending around temple compounds and courtyards. Newer housing spreads out along the roads leading away from the centre, and the edges give way quickly to a patchwork of fields and water tanks.
The Dharma river runs near the town, and its course adds a soft, winding line to a map that is otherwise all small blocks and rural tracks. Hāngal has a long past as a regional seat in the Deccan. Its best-known monument is the Tarakeshwara temple, a carved stone temple from the Chalukya era that draws visitors interested in early Karnataka architecture.
A Hāngal map poster keeps all of this in a restrained black-and-white form: the knot of the old town, the roads spreading outward like spokes, and the lighter texture of the farmland around it. It is a quiet, detailed map of a small place, suited to anyone with family roots in Haveri district or a fondness for the temple towns of the Deccan.

Dharma river
The river gives the composition a flowing counterpoint, a soft curve through otherwise angular farmland and roads on the outskirts of town.
Radiating country roads
Roads leave the town in several directions toward neighbouring villages and market centres, giving the poster a clear hub-and-spoke structure.
