Valley floor
The town takes up the lowland between hills. Its streets are densest where the ground is flattest and thin out as the terrain rises.

Hedong Map Poster & Print
Hedong is in the hilly interior of eastern Guangdong, where towns tend to occupy the flat ground along rivers, with wooded ridges on either side. From above, the built-up area follows the valley floor. Main roads run parallel to the water, and smaller lanes branch off towards farmland and the foot of the hills.
This part of the province is mostly rural and has close ties to Hakka culture. Settlement here is shaped by terrain more than by any formal plan. So the town's outline on a map is set largely by where the land levels off, and denser blocks give way to scattered buildings as the slopes begin.
A Hedong map poster turns this valley setting into a composition of lines that thicken and thin. Streets gather near the river and spread out towards the edges of the sheet. That gradual change works well in black and white, and it gives the print a steady, grounded feel.

River corridor
A watercourse runs through the valley and guides the main roads. It gives the map a clear central axis for the rest of the street network to follow.
Fading edges
At the outskirts, the tight town blocks break into looser roads and paths through farmland. That softens the edges of the composition in a natural way.
