Archipelago coastline
To the south, the land breaks into bays, narrow straits and islands, a highly irregular coastline that gives the map its most striking shapes and plenty of open water.

Kaarina Map Poster & Print
Kaarina is a town in Southwest Finland, bordering Turku to the east and southeast. Its map is a mix of land and water: residential districts with curving streets and cul-de-sacs sit close to the city, while the southern part of the municipality opens onto bays, straits and islands at the start of the Archipelago Sea. The coastline is long and irregular, giving the composition a strong, organic edge.
One of Kaarina's best-known sites is Kuusisto, an island where the ruins of a medieval bishop's castle stand. The town also grew considerably when the neighbouring municipality of Piikkiö was merged into it in 2009, extending its territory further east along the coast.
A Kaarina map poster captures this blend of suburb and seascape: neat residential streets, main roads leading toward Turku, and the complex shapes of bays and islands to the south. In black and white, the interplay of built areas and water becomes the main subject, a calm and distinctly Finnish composition.

Kuusisto island
The island of Kuusisto, home to the ruins of a medieval bishop's castle, sits among the southern waters and adds a landmark to the coastal part of the map.
Suburban streets
Residential areas near Turku are laid out with curving streets and loops, a softer pattern than a city grid that reads nicely against the coastline.
