Kolenté Map Poster & Print
Kolenté lies in the Kindia region of western Guinea, an area of rolling hills, forest patches and farmland between the coastal plain and the higher interior. The name is shared with the Kolenté River, known downstream in Sierra Leone as the Great Scarcies, which forms part of the border between the two countries. From above, the settlement is small and loosely arranged, with its roads spreading into the surrounding countryside.
The map of an area like this is defined less by streets than by terrain and water. Streams feed the river system, tracks connect villages across the hills, and cultivated clearings break up the vegetation. A Kolenté map poster renders these sparse lines with care and doesn't fill the space with invented detail.
What stands out is how much of the image belongs to the land. The built-up area is only a small part of the composition, and the rest is shaped by watercourses and the routes people use to travel between farms and neighbouring communities. In black and white, this becomes a quiet, open drawing of a rural place in West Africa.

Rural tracks
Unpaved roads and paths link the settlement to nearby villages and farmland, forming a thin, irregular network that spreads out across the hills.
Open landscape
Most of the map is countryside rather than town. Streams, clearings and gentle slopes give the composition space and a sense of the land's scale.
