Lagos de Moreno Map Poster & Print
Lagos de Moreno lies in Los Altos de Jalisco, a region of high plains and ranch country. The town grew along the Río Lagos, and on a map the river bends through the centre, splitting the older streets from newer districts. The colonial core is a tight mesh of short blocks and small plazas around the main church.
The town sat on the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, the historic route between Mexico City and the north, now a UNESCO World Heritage route. Its bridge over the river is part of local lore: a saying claims that travellers once had to pay to cross, whether or not the river held water.
The baroque parish church rises over the centre, and the town has been named a Pueblo Mágico. A Lagos de Moreno map poster shows that historic grid beside the curve of the river, with newer neighbourhoods spreading into the surrounding highlands.

Colonial street mesh
Short, irregular blocks and small plazas around the parish church form the densest part of the map, a fine pattern typical of colonial towns.
The royal road
As a stop on the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, the town's main roads trace a route that once linked Mexico City with the silver towns of the north.
